Dr. Robert Shea
Dr. Robert Shea serves as the Interim Vice President and Provost at Curry College. He also serves as the Dean of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment at the College and leads the Faculty Center for Professional Development and Curriculum Innovation. Dr. Shea oversees and supports assessment and accreditation work and advances and supports the application and integration of academic technology. As the chief academic officer, Dr. Shea is responsible for strategic planning, grantsmanship, faculty recruitment and faculty development, evaluation, and achievement. Dr. Shea joined the Curry College community in 2021 after serving as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Pine Manor College. Dr. Shea's prior experience includes serving as the Vice Provost at Roger Williams University, Assistant Vice President for Teaching and Learning and Director of Faculty Development at Bryant University, and Director of the Office of Student Learning, Outcomes Assessment and Accreditation at the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Shea has a BA from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia. His research interests include Scholarship in Teaching and Learning, Service Learning, Medical Sociology, Social Psychology, and Sociology of Culture, Family, and Gender. |
Cheryl Cumings
Cheryl Cumings is the Founder and Executive Director of Our Space Our Place, Inc., a nonprofit which offers an after-school and career exploration program for blind or low vision middle and high school students. Cheryl has worked at UMass Medical School, the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, and the Boston Partnership for Older Adults. She is a former Peace Corps Volunteer who completed her Master's degree at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and her BA degree at Princeton University. She immigrated to the US with her family from Guyana, South America. Cheryl lives with her husband in Boston, Massachusetts. |
